Join Sarah Stremming and I as we interview Emily Nagoski, co-author of the new book, “Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle” on this episode of the Paws & Reward Podcast. “Burnout” is the book for people who feel overwhelmed and not enough, despite all their efforts.
Sarah and I really resonated with this book on so many levels and loved learning more about how stress can impact our relationships with our dogs.
What Is Burnout?
Burnout and stress go hand in hand. Burnout is a syndrome resulting from chronic stress – physical, mental and emotional. Typically, someone struggling with burnout and stress experiences a lack of energy or extreme exhaustion, feelings of negativity or cynicism and feelings of overwhelm.
Burnout and stress are often associated with a person’s work, but burnout can also have an impact on the human-canine bond and the way we connect with our dogs.
Exploring Burnout and Stress
It was such an honor to talk with Emily about burnout and stress. It was so interesting to learn more about her book and see the parallels with the work we do with our dogs and clients.
Listen to the episode to hear the full conversation and discover why burnout and stress matters for you and your dog.
